WTTA BAR and 185 2011 update

With the cancellation of the WTTA100, another hundred needed to be found for the BAR and 185 competition. What's been decided is that for 2011 a ride in any CTT 100 will count towards the competition. Also as the BSCC/Corinium 50m event was cancelled half way through, so not everyone recorded a time, its been decided that times recorded in this event won't count towards the BAR and 185 competitions.

Welcome to the website for the WTTA Hardrider series. The Hardrider series is a cycling competition run annually in the West DC.

This site is intended to be a complete online resource for the series. You will find details of each counting event, including maps and start and result sheets as these become available. As you might expect, the latest points tables will also be posted here. In addition to information on the current season's competition, you can also find archive results for each event and series since it was first run in 1991.

How to get in on the action.

Entry to the events is open to all riders who hold membership of Cycling Time Trials (formerly RTTC) affiliated clubs. In order to be eligible for points and prizes however, your club must be affiliated to the WTTA (subscriptions must be paid by March 31st each year to qualify) or alternatively you can join the WTTA as a private member* at a cost of £7 per person. The WTTA Treasurer's details and more information can be found on the affiliates page.

Points scoring and prizes.

Points are now allocated based on the placing of only eligible riders with 120 for 1st, 119 for 2nd, 118 for 3rd and so on down to 1 point for the 120th placed eligible rider. Riders who are not eligible for points regardless of finishing position in an event will be ignored for the purposes of applying points.

There is a Trophy for the series winner and awards for:
- First five seniors
- First five Vets in the age 40-49.
- First three Vets (in age groups 50-59, 60-69)
- First Vet 70+.
- First six teams of 3
- First lady
- First Juv/Jun

All riders (except for juniors) must ride at least 6 events. Juniors must ride at least 5 events. Points are scored from the 6 best events.

The Points tables for the series will not be compiled until after March, once all the club and private affiliations have been received.

* Private members are not eligible for team prizes.
